Is the heating issue with asus K55vm real?

Right off the assembly line
I had a plan to buy asus k55vm. At 51k the specifications on this laptop are mouthwatering. Lot of people say this one is the perfect budget gaming notebook. But I have also heard several users complaining about the the laptop getting overheated while playing high end games. They say the machine shuts down after 15-20 mins of gaming...real frustrating..
i have decided to settle for HP Pavilion M4, but still would have liked to own an asus rather than an HP.
So is the news about over-heating of K55vm real?

Yeah the heating issues are real. If you don't install the software provided on the driver cd to the laptop literally and i mean everything then you will also face issues.

i friend also had it and he was also having shut down problems with it. someone took a challenge that he will fix the laptop and he literally installed everything on the machine and then the shut down issues were also gone. Heating was a little bit present though.

Get the laptop and along that invest in a good cooling pad and the problem will be minimized.

Yeah the heating issue of the laptop is real.. As said by Shadow it will be good if you invest in a good cooling pad... However, may I know why you are so much inclined towards going for ASUS laptop instead of the HP? Thanks

First, for all those who are
experiencing thermal shutdowns,
one little question- How many
hours break do you give this **** to
cool down? You play on your bed,
heating is mess there and dont give
this lappy some air to breathe!
Heating is obvious in such
situations! Get a cooling pad/play
on a table! (keeping it on your lap
helps, except if u can feel
comfortable with the heat). I've
played 10 hours of Crysis 3 straight
provided there was proper
ventilation. Gaming is great, and if
u use NVIDIA GeForce Experience (it
applies best settings for a good
gaming experience, not always high
graphics settings), you might just
get the best out of your a little
backdated GPU (still is better than
most). Battery: If anyone is having
low battery issues, do you know
about charge cycles to maintain ur
batteries? The battery backup is
not overwhelming, but I've played
Crysis 3 straight for 65 minutes
from full charge to 10% The HDD
could've been a 7200 RPM (wud've
been far better). The display too
could've been better as this has
tight display angles. Rest is as you
see. Performance is terrific, as thats
what you expect from a 8-core
hyperthreaded i7 processor coupled
with 8 gigs of DDR3 RAM. You can
co-incidentally run FIFA 14 with the
onboard Intel HD 4000 on max
graphics settings and still it wont
lag (u r not using ur GPU! Processor
usage goes upto 35% instead of
20% while using the GPU)
