Is it suggested to buy a phone from Singapore for use in India?

I am planning to buy a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 from Singapore. Is it suggested to buy a phone from Singapore for use in India? Some suggested places/shops to buy it from?

Also, what precautions to take/things to be aware of so that I do not get cheated?

Really need some advice. Would appreciate your replies. Thanks

See if you can buy from a samsung cafe. or else you can give online a shot. Plus do check for the lte bands if you want to use it in India.
