now in this case there is a very storng possibility that u have nothing to do with it & u cant do any thing to solve it... what i mean is... if some one in ur cable netowrk puts the same IP as ur system... then both of the system, ur & his will have this worning... u cant spot him like this... only thing u can do is to report ths to ur cable guy & hope that he understands that whats a IP conlict is...

I'm sorry to say but some one just can be doing this... just to disturb u... :? :?

but if he puts the same ip as that of mine, can he use my account , when i'm using it?
Consider that he knows my login name and pass.

The cable guy is quite friendly with me, coz i run the DC++ hub.

well as u said that u have made him (cable guy) open the mac address locking sicurity & if he (the IP conflict dude) knows ur ID n password.... then yup its quite possible.... but cant say exaclty that whether its possible to use a same account simultaneous... it will depend on the connection distributing software that the cable guys using & over its configaration....

MAC Address-to-IP mapping isnt done at the users end.It is implemented at the ISP side.

I'm not quite sure of what hardware/software is required for serving this purpose so cant comment but you can enquire at the ISP whether they incorporate it.

But I doubt it since if it existed they would have been smart enough to implement it righto !
