Hp Envy 13 d014tu

Hey Guys, i just bought an envy 13 for 83k with 8gb ram, 256ssd , core i7 6th gen 6500u. It has soldered ram, any way to upgrade it?
Any way to install mac osx or other light OS? I wish to use it for programming using Android Studio and virtual devices.

If it doesn't have a free slot, then no way to upgrade RAM

Just create a new partition & install the OS you want in that (BTW Win10 should run smoothly in that system)

Windows 10 runs smoothly but when I switch tabs and windows many times it takes time to render the web pages, so I thought that might be due to ram?/is it? [MENTION=127850]anupam[/MENTION]

In my laptop, there is a delay of less than 1 sec if I switch to something running in background which was unused for a long time (30 min)

Otherwise its fast n smooth

I dont think RAM is to be blamed

You want to OC a dual core ULV CPU?

Should've went with a laptop having a quad core i7 instead.

Why overclock? I don't see a reason why....

You had the budget to get a laptop with a quad core i7 but you went for a ULV one instead. There's no point in overclocking it.

I had an msi laptop but sold it due to the bulky nature, I needed some light weight laptop so again my bad the performance isn't as good as it should be

Try chrome maybe... I personally use chrome
Also use laptop with charger plugged in & check if there's a difference (My friend's laptop with ulv runs slower in battery mode)

Great I'll try that but will it not harm the motherboard? Continuously keeping it plugged in?

But battery's health will reduce if you overcharge it for long (remove power supply after battery is full)

Thanks for the advice, I just installed Ubuntu with a friends help on my laptop and so far it's good, let's see how far it takes me.

Strange My lappy with i5 ulv processor doesn't feel slow.You could have scanned with malware byte anti malware.

I use Android studio and geny motion all the time, they use a lot of resources I guess in addition to the windows system I guess. For now Ubuntu is solving the purpose, I'll test it for a few days and maybe shift full time later
