I have no knowledge of Macbook!!! So I might not be much of a help! But just wondering...
What Audio port(s) are available on your Macbook?
Is it just Headphone out or a separate Headphone out + Line-In or a combo port? Have you checked the specs? What is the exact model number of your Macbook?

Now users mostly use USB Audio Interfaces to interface (Line/Mic/Instrument) with a computer, be it Windows or Mac.

What do you mean by vice-versa? Playing audio from Mac on to mobile?

@patkim

1. It's a combo jack.
2. MacBook Pro M2
3. Playing audio from Mac on to mobile that is Mobile <=> Macbook

IF it's a Headphone Mic combo jack, you might possibly need one of this
*www.amazon.in/RiaTech-Black-Headphones-Splitter-U-Shape/dp/B01JUE04E8?th=1

Disclaimer - Results might vary. It may or may not work depending upon how the Mac HW and OS sees the port on Mac.

Also if the Macbook internally has Mic-in connection (Instead of Line-In) then generally Mic-In has a very poor S/N ratio so you might not get optimum sound quality when you plug in Line signal to Mic-in.

Can you point me to the Apple site where your specific model specs are listed?

You have indicated that it's a combo port but when I look at sample specs here (I don't know if this is your device) *support.apple.com/en-in/111869 it only says 3.5mm Headphone jack.
If it's a combo, ideally they should mention that.
I suggest you contact Apple support and get official info if the port is only headphone or headphone-mic combo.

If there's no mic-in, then a USB Audio Interface is way to go which is a recommended method now anyways, as I mentioned in my first post.

No. It has a MIC port because I able to use my earphones and able to talk in video calls.

What app are you using on Mac OS to actually record or capture audio? Is the app able to detect and configure microphone input?
E.g. Reaper DAW which is cross platform. *www.reaper.fm/download.php Install for Mac OS and under 'Preferences' check if the In & Out devices are properly detected and listed.

On Windows there's a 'Listen to this devices' Direct monitoring option that by default routes In to Out device. I am not too sure if Mac has any such option. You may need to explore.

At a basic level even before giving mobile out to your Mac... use your headphone with integrated mic and see if DAW like Reaper or Audacity (*www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/) can record what you speak into it.
