How effective is Extendable RAM feature?

A couple of Vivo smartphones like Vivo V20E 5G and Vivo Y73 have been launched with extendable RAM feature where 8GB RAM can be increased to up to 11GB using internal storage. Is it really as effective as real RAM?

It is nothing but page file like in windows and swap space like in Linux.

Also ram does not increase to 11GB. It remains 8 GB and there is just 1-2% improvement.

It's marketing stuff, not at all a deal-breaker.

BTW you can blindly disregard all Vivo & Oppo phones, usually Samsung has a better option near it, if not others like Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco or Realme or Moto. Vivo & Oppo's UI is inferior to those companies.

Also, this is not a new stuff. Earlier I have done it by rooting the phone. And can still be done by magisk modules.

The short answer is "almost certainly not". However, if the system doesn't have enough physical RAM to store everything it needs, virtual RAM really becomes essential. I would say it's not so much about whether it increases performance or not.

if system doesnot have enuff ramm for normal process, it will no way use rom for storage. It will rather make it slower. The gimmick they talk about doesn’t work this way. it stores those apps in memory which have been in background for a long time. And please stop jerking off in threads like this.
