help!!!!!!

hey guys i need ur help again.......
actually i wanna increase RAM of my computer.......
so i asked my service centre about it dey say u can no problems,u can extend it upto 4 gb......
but tmmrw i asked one of shop owner near by to increaso the RAM upto 1 gb......
so he said ur computer wont be running properly after that......
my old RAM is 256MB DDR-1 at 400 MHz........
and byw let me knw the price of 1GB DDR-1 400 MHZ......
so is thr any prob lyk dis/?

it's a lie, it won't become a problem
if it's ddr1 so it will cost around $100

may be the dealer is true.
I remember my RAM was 333 MHz. May be the 400 MHz is why he told so. But again, i am a noob, so maybe wrong!

1 GB DDR1 RAM will cost u around 1500-2000/-

Ur dealer is somewhat correct, if freq of new RAM is different then it may be a problem. So my suggestion is remove ur 256 MB and just insert 1GB stick alone. Give ur old RAM and purchase a new RAM.

if the frequencies for rams do not match, the performance will be effected, that is if you mobo supports 400 MHz. since the frequencies here are the same you will have no problem with adding another 1GB 400 MHz ram.

yeah my old RAM is 256MB 400 MHz one........
so is thr any problem in putting a 1GB 400MHz one??
or i have to remove my old RAM?

There shouldn't be any problem. And there's no need to remove the older RAM stick.
