Help needed in Upgrading my pc

Hi everyone

I am a engg student. My present configuration is 3 years old

Intel Pentium 4 1.7 GHz
Mercury Motherboard KOB 845 GL NDSMx
512 mb of DDR
Samsung CD RW
Samsung 40 Gb
Seagate 80 Gb
Both Ide

Now i want to upgrade my cpu . My budget for cpu is not very high, its a modest 13000 which can be extended upto 15000. I want my new configuration to support most of the games including games like NFS most wanted etc. I want a amd processor as i don trust intel anymore(previous experience taught me this). So please suggest me a configuration within my budget. My present requirements are

1. AMD processor (only 3000+ is available in my city)
2. Descent MOBO with onboard graphics card .
3. DVD writer
4. A graphics card (need better than nvidia 6200gt)
5. A new cabinet

I am planning to use my old ram( 2 months old) and hard disks(1 month old).

So please suggest me a configuration to fullfil all my needs...

ur config is somewat similar to mine....
so the thign u now need is...
A GFX Card ..wud prefer ...Nvidia GeForce 6600 256 MB..me also using same...
and i can play each and every game on this planet...

but do upgrade ur ram to 1gb..thats it no more upgradation required bro...

I would suggest u to refer to previous issues of Digit where Agent001 had the configuration of high end and mid end pcs. Or if u want a customised answer, then it would be better to mail him and wait for the next issue.
