I am shortly moving to Delhi - where I hear that compulsory digitization of cable telecast has been enforced. Will my current TV work there, or will need to buy a new HD TV?

Your current TV will work fine.

Compulsory digitisation of cable telecast means, your cable-wallah will install a Set-Top-Box in your home and your TV will be connected to the Set-Top-Box using these cables:

While it is true that compulsory digitization has been enforced in the four metros (to start with - and later for the whole country), customers don't need to take any active steps other than to get new set top boxes from their cable providers. Also, I think there is a major confusion regarding digitization of telecast - it has nothing to do with High Definition TV. If you have an HDTV, say, an LG 32LM6200, you will not start getting HD content simply by cable digitization - you still need to access HD channels.
