I don't understand why some people still bother to post "happy independence day" messages like the one here-of what use is this so called independence day to anyone?(except the politicians perhaps,who use this occasion to make themselves look more patriotic and upstanding than what they really are).There are so many poor/homeless people out on the streets who cannot even afford a square meal a week,let alone a day-is this illusion of independence going make an iota of difference to their lives or for that matter,mitigate the suffering of the common man who have to work extremely hard everyday to make ends meet,while those belonging to the privileged classes continue to reap the fruits of their painstaking labour?

The very idea of independence as we know it is a lie-no one truly gains freedom unless and until he or she is dead and buried.

Lol. Some people never change, they will always be complicated. Those who lecture about poor people, or think that he knows the actual meaning of independence, did they ever bother to offer any help to people who need it?

I never understand the fuss behind any holiday, but those who died bravely trying to fight to gain independence, well at least dedicate a day for them. It was all political, but some people made their mark, and that's more than respectable.
