graphic adapter missing

i had just installled GE FORCE 6200 XFX Nvidia 128 mb pci- express graphics card
i m using p4 2.8ghz, intel 915 motherboard, 512 mb ram, and wondows xp with Service pack 2.
1. i removed the intel extreme graphics driver.(Intel82915 G Express chipset)
( despite my removal of the graphic driver, its settings show 32 bit and highest resolution of 2048 X 1536 pixels)
n when i checked in the advanced tab of display settings i found no adapter which was instructed in the manual to be changed.
2. i fitted the graphic card in the slot
3. i run the driver provided with the card ( later on i tried a downloaded driver too)
3. now i selected the initial display in the bios as pci express but again i dint found the adapter.
MY FAN IS MAKING TOO MUCH NOISE IN COMPARISON to earlier

bud if ur talkin bout the Onboard Graphics..then u cant just uninstall drivers , fit new Card..and install its drivers....you will have to Disable the Onboard Graphics on the MotherBoard then install the new Card......well i am not that techical how to do it..hope some one gives him the Hardware method..

i figured it out

thnks for ur response bro
but the real problem was the faulty driver cd the downloaded version of the drivers wurked but that too not in a regular way i ad to extract the contents of the driver to a new folder n then i had to update the driver from the devices where i manually picked up the device n had to give the path manually to the extracccted folder

Mr. Johny That not the actual method to install a Graphics card on the intel 915 motherboard. I don't know how you managed to do it, anyways, I will suggest you to consult your vendor or manufacturer of you PC for a detailed Hardware settings options that you must make in the BIOS.

well lets see..so u want to reinstall the drivers...hmm go to device manager and delete the drivers for display...reboot....when it asks for drivers ..then pop the CD i guess it sud work...if ur cd is bad..extract the files to HDD and then update.....

Install the drivers from the DIGIT Cd's nd DVD's !!!

Coz ithink u have no removed ur old drivers properly !!! Try I re-install without formatting !! so ur data will be safe !!! According to me Install the drivers i told u !!! if it does not work u will have to format and reinstall coz ur Card is not being detected !!!
