The "Finger of God"
Hey All,

I am almost done getting parts for my High End Computer recently except CPU/ Memory/ SSD

CPU is quite short on supply but hopefully will get in next week, planning to buy i5-2500k / i7-2600k for my GA-P67A-UD7-B3 Motherboard.

On the matter of RAM (DDR 3 Dual Channel), its been quite hard to get Corsair 1800Mhz ( Dominator/ Vengeance) ones and almost all the suppliers are telling me it will take atleast 14-17 days.

So I also got to know about G.Skill 2000Mhz availability with its own Fan.

I wanted to know how good is G.Skill Brand/ company in regards to RAM performance/ after sales and etc..

Should I Buy it in place of Corsair? Or should I wait it out or just use 1600Mhz?
Appreciate all the advices,

Thanks all.

Corsair Dominator has many issues with Sandy Bridge. Complete no-no.

Do not waste money by purchasing 2GHz RAM or such. You will not see a shred of difference.

How much capacity do you need? 4GB?
Then get either G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1600 (PC3 12800) 2x2GB @2.65k or G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1600 (PC3 12800) 1x4GB @2.5k.

If you need 8GB, then get G.Skill Sandy Bridge 8GB 1600Mhz DDR3 2x4GB @5.3k

Care to please explain or links why Corsair Dominator has troubles with Sandy Bridge.
Today I got a good offer for Corsair Vengeance 1800Mhz RAM available in a week time.

And I am planning to get 4x2 8GB RAM, So I guess will take the SMC International G.Skill 1600Mhz RAM otherwise if Corsair is getting bad rep with Sandy Bridge platform.

Corsair Vengeance is totally fine. If you have a good offer, then go with it.

Regarding your first query, the C9 Dominator GT has compatibility issues with Sandy Bridge due to a voltage bug, but the C8 ones (the revised ones) work fine and are included in the QVL. But, no need to take any chances whatsoever. You have a good offer you say, then go for Vengeance since it was made for 2nd Gen. Core processors.
