error detecting RAM(are mujhe koi is musibat se bachao)

I have two DDR 400 256MB RAM sticks on a via chipset based motherboard.I took out the RAM sticks and cleaned the motherboard.When i again inserted the RAM modules and booted the system my computer displayed only 256 MB of RAM.Then i did a lot of experimenting and found that one of my RAM module is not detected while the RAM module which was not getting detected worked fine on my friend,s computer.That's created me a lot of confusion.The RAM is of SIMMTRONICS only six months old.the motherboard is based on via VT8237R chipset that too is only six months old. Anybody help me please.

may be while cleaning ur MOBO some dust particles hav entered in ur mobo's RAM slot
again try cleaning it
also reset ur BIOS setting to "Fail Safe Default"
