Hi I am Rupesh from India and at present I am using redmi note 4 with 64 GB and snapdragon processor ie., mido. I want to buy a new smartphone which provides high quality audio ie., which has separate component for audio processing.

Two years back I thought to buy a new smartphone which has separate component for audio processing and found that mi note series smartphones have separate component for audio processing and I have brought redmi note 4.

At present I am searching for a new smartphone which has separate component for audio processing and so I have examined the specifications of redmi note 7 pro and unfortunately I found that it does not have separate component for audio processing I mean it is not hifi audio compliant.

At present I have also searched for other smartphone which has separate component for audio processing and found a smartphone named zte axon mini ion gold. This particular phone is very affordable.

I would like to buy redmi note 7 pro happily if it is hifi audio compliant. Can anyone of you suggest any other smartphone which is hifi compliant and at the same time affordable.

Please examine the following links and also examine the specifications of redmi note 7 pro and confirm whether it is hifi audio compliant or not.

Let me get this straight, you want to buy a 3 year old android mobile stuck on Lolipop for almost 6k just to get "hi-fi audio compatibility". I am not an audiophile so may be wrong but I think you need at least a 5-6k earphone to notice the difference between a "hi-fi audio" mobile & one not having it.

Most current mid-range and above phones have good enough output via 3.5mm jack. I just checked a flac file on Oneplus 3 which lacks such "hi-fi" audio chip using HD 598SE, E10c and brainwavz delta. The first two sounded great but delta was disappointing.
I don't think OP should spend money on any old phone for that chip but on a good earphone (like E10c) would be a worthy investment, even for use with RN4.

Hi I am providing specifications below
1) budget is below 15000 rupees
2) touch screen with dust resistant and gorilla glass
3) single sim is enough
4) any brand which is hifi compatible
5) I don't give any preference to camara and so I don't need any extra features like flash, HDR, high resolution etc.,.
6) android os is enough and I don't want iOS, windows etc.,.
7) single sim with 4g compatible is enough. Normal WiFi is enough. Bluetooth is must
8) As already specified I want good phone to listen high quality music and so I want good phone for multimedia.
9) zte axon 7 plus, Alcatel idol 4s, all Sony xperia phones which are below 15000 etc.,.
10) some of the Sony xperia phones provides audio with hires I mean you can't get such audio quality in any other phones. There are some other phones which are HiFi compatible I mean they provide medium audio quality than others.

As I love to listen music I am searching for a multimedia phone which provide high quality audio playback. I want good phone with lowest price and so it may be manufactured 3 years back even I am ready to buy. Phone with 32 GB internal memory is also acceptable.

Some of the Sony xperia phones provides audio quality with hires and so can you try to examine them which are below 15000 to 16000.

If I can't get hires phone then I would prefer to buy any HiFi compatible phone.

I am ready to buy any phone which provide hires audio and if not at least HiFi audio.

I am not going to consider how many years back the device has been manufactured.

Previously I mean five years back I visited mobile store and seen Sony xperia phone and I was attracted to its features especially audio and at that time the price was 40000/- but I can't remember model number. Is there any possibility to get that phone below 17000 to 18000.

I am in hesitation which phone to buy I mean redmi note 7 which doesn't have any special component for audio processing or phones like zte axon 7, Alcatel idol 4s, Sony xperia compact etc.,.

I am thinking that Hires or at least HiFi phones provides high quality audio.

In the present phone I am using sound enhancers like Dolby atmos, Dolby digital plus, viper, Dirac , Sony music module etc.,. I am using these enhancing software's by flashing arise sound mod.

Does sound enhancer like Dolby atmos provide high quality audio or all these enhancing software's are trash.

How about you get a decent 10-12k phone, wait for few months to get a headphone amplifier for around 5k. We have a thread here in audio section about the AMP mentioning about FiiO. Check that out.

Just now I found that xiomi mi a1 is HiFi audio compliant.

Can you crosscheck whether it is HiFi audio compliant or not.

LG phones have dedicated DAC, but really at that budget, just buy any phone with 3.5mm jack. They have good enough output to drive most headphones. The software features like Dolby support are nice to have but I won't say they are deal breaker like other specs of phone, like SoC, RAM, future OS updates, etc. Just buy Redmi Note 7 Pro

Which headphone are you planning to use? If its anything under 5k, really you are fine with any phone. Read the audio quality section of this review: Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 review
I have no idea what those parameters are, but for 99% users, most phones have decent output. I have observed low volume output from some cheap phones, but that's it (that too was in a Oppo phone about 3 years ago, I'm sure even they have better hardware now). As @SaiyanGoku said, if his OP3 can drive an HD 598, you are just fine with any 15k phone (or your current one) + a good earphone/headphone.

If you are still adamant about it, increase budget & buy LG V30+. It goes for 25k, even lower on sales.

Ok I agree that redmi note 7 pro is more than enough for my daily needs except audio quality.

There is another device called external DAC which converts bits stream to high quality audio. Some of them are chord mojo, audilab mdac nano etc.,.

May I know which external DAC is best and affordable I mean below 1500/- to 2000.

Also up to now I have not seen such device and so can you suggest a link which tells how to use it.

If external DAC which is suitable for me costs above 5000/- then I will not buy it. Instead I will use my redmi note 7 pro and sound enhancement software like Dolby atmos, Dolby digital plus, viper etc.,.

I have tested a number of times the audio quality of music files by playing normally and by playing music files and at the same time running Dolby atmos, viper in background. The audio quality was good in running Dolby atmos in background.

Fiio BTR1k seems to have decent reviews, its an all in one bluetooth dac/amp that can be used in wired format as welll. costs around 3.8k..
Dont go for uBTR, it has very bad reviews.

Which headphone do you have? Just get a better one, usually the cheapest fix

I have examined the specifications of fiio btr1k and it is nice but it is having Bluetooth feature.

I don't need Bluetooth feature and so is there any good DAC which connect to phone through USB, aux etc.,. As I don't need Bluetooth feature the cost may be reduced.

Your mi earphones arent gonna improve with any dac or amp. Get proper audiophile earphones that can improve from dac amp..

In-Ear Monitors

Mi earphones.
You need premium headphones, like those costing above 5000 INR (in general) to even get any significant benefit from DAC or ext amps. So buy a better earphone or a good headphone. No point otherwise. Buy Soundmagic E10C as suggested earlier, a good investment for the money. If you want a new phone as well, RN7P is great for you.

I have listened to some audiophile level headphones, those are great, but I can't justify spending that amount of money. I'm happy with under 2000 earphones & headphones w/o any DAC or ext amps. Also Dolby & other software amp features are good to have, but never a dealbreaker for me (3.5mm jack on phone is surely more important for me).
