recently i bought a DDR kingston 3200 400Mhz 256MB
the vendor said its backward compatible with my KOB845 Ndsmx which only supprots upto the speed 266Mhz

so my doubt is that when i tested it with the CPU.exe frequency tester which came with the digit cd it only shows the ram frequency as 133.6 mhz

i have searched some sites and found out that the
"DDR-266: DDR-SDRAM memory chips specified to run with 133 MHz"

is this correct or should the test show 266mhz instead of 133.6

waiting for a reply

get cpu-z from www.cpuid.org/cpuz.php and check ur ram for all supported speeds and more details.

i have searched some sites and found out that the
"DDR-266: DDR-SDRAM memory chips specified to run with 133 MHz"

ya u r right. ddr means double data rate , so even if u r having a 400mhz stick it will be shown as a 200mhz stick. and hence ddr266 will be shown as 133mhz.

i think its because your mobo dnsnt support dual channel. Maybe!

it has nothing to do with dual channel support ... plz dont confuse him. i think u r confused yourself. a ddr ram will be shown at half its speed only cause its dual data rate ram ... nothing to do with dual channel or single channel.
