Consider replacing your battery

I have Dell Vostro 1550. I am using windows 7 Ultimate. Now it is showing a cross icon on battery saying that "Consider replacing your battery"
I have format & reinstall window, I have update drivers but still is the same problem, what should I do?

The battery is dead, replace it.

Use the laptop always plugged in, use it on batteries only in emergencies. don't charge and discharge it frequently.
