1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:
1. The computer will be used for general purposes @ home.
2. Software will be- MS Office, Photoshop, different charting programs like Metastock, Ninjatrader, Amibroker and similars. I will be using a VM also.
3. Casual gaming. Older games of 2012-2017 will be enough.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 50K. May be extended up to 60K.
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No.
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10 Pro (64 bit).
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 2TB. I will use my existing Seagate HDD Barracuda Compute.
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: I will go for a 22” or 24”. Full HD. 1920*1080..
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: HDD (2 TB Barracuda Compute) and PSU (Antec VP550P)
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: within this year.
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yes. But this time I will go to an assembler.
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Kolkata. Yes. No online, please.
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I need recommendation for all the parts except HDD & SMPS i.e.
1. CPU 2. Motherboard 3. RAM 4. HDD: Seagate 2 TB 2 TB Barracuda Compute 5. PSU: Antec VP555P
6. GPU: (Not much interested, if APU can suffice) 7. Monitor: 8. Cabinet: 9. Keyboard & Mouse: 10. Speakers: 11. UPS:
Some requirements are -
All the parts should be compatible. There should not be any known issues between them. No BIOS update, please. There should not be any bottleneck in performance either.
The most important thing that I should mention here is that I don’t want to run into the infamous 100% disk usage nightmare.
