Bought Pentium G4560 + Gigabyte B250 D3H + 4 Gb DDR 4 Ram, setup from Usb takes long

I have bought Intel Pentium G4560 and Gigabyte GA-B250-D3H motherboard and 4 GB DDR4 RAM, using it with existing cabinet and HP Compaq 300w power supply,

Motherboard has 20 or 24 pin and one additional 8 pin power connector, i attached 24 pin to motherboard, however motherboard power supply has one extra 4 pin power connextor, so i attached it, now out of 8 pin only 4 pin are connected,

The system started with Linux mint with USB boot

But booting from pen drive for windows 10 and 7 takes way too long.

Do I need to buy new power supply, why system is not able to boot, it recognises setup goes into process but keeps there for long, I tried this usb drive in laptop it works fine.

Please help, what I need to do.

1st of all change that poer supply to anything better.

HP is an OEM PSU and prone to damage.

So,
Antec VP450P or

Best PSU ever,
Seasonic S12II 520w.

If you can add an SSD just for the booting it will increase your performance 10 fold.

Like a 120GB is enough.

I suggest either Crucial MX300 series or Samsung 850 Evo series SSDs.

Since you bought a new PC, just check in the BIOS whether it is set to run even non-GUI OS also like Linux.

Check whether your HDD has any bad sectors.

Run checkdisk once.

Are you going to run Dual OS.

1st of all test by installing on a VM then you can find out about installing directly.

VM installation and OS start on this system will take forever. Check what type is your MBR as Win supports GPT and linux has different format(or vice-versa), and your harddisk partition where you are tryiong to install Win is formatted as NTFS. I am not sure if this will work though.

Do you hear the beep sound? If not, unplug and replug power connectors in the motherboard. Could be loose connection. It was the case for me last week when I bought a new motherboard. Everything was working but not POSTing. If still not working, google for more troubleshoot options.

Check the 8(4+4) pin EPS power connector, 24 pin power connector and all front panel connectors.

If all are connected but still problem persists then it's your PSU.

1st of all change that power supply to anything better.

HP is an OEM PSU and prone to damage all components in the cabinet or even start a fire inside cabinet. Don't use it anymore.

So get either,
Antec VP550P @ 4K or

Seasonic S12II 520w @ 5.5k

Are you booting from USB3? or may be port on your cabinet? try plugging it directly into motherboard ports.

OP listen to others, change Power supply.
I also faced many problems due to power supply VIP brand.
Changed motherboard 3 times, repaired CRT monitor (difficult to repair), also repaired power supply 1 time and replaced 1 time. In 10 years I spent over 10k for 30k computer.
Power supply caused problem in CRT monitor, altered display and display showing yellow Color effect.
Another problem was power point connection was interchanged by electrician. Meaning neutral and live was interchanged. It can damage motherboard, specifically RAM.
BSOD, blue screen of death was common problem for me.
Many problems I faced in those 10 years.

Please change Power supply and save your computer.
