Modding a BIOS is just that...modifying your bios to say unlock hidden features or maybe adding some BIOS codes to add something like OC features, memory timings and dividers etc...very dangerous, not recomended unless your an expert.
if something goes wrong:
1.You might corrupt your bios in which case your computer wont work and u have to get a replacement board...since modding prolly voids warranty you probably wont get a replacement.
2.Worst case scenario you do something horribly wrong and since the BIOS controlls all the voltages you might end up highly overvolting some component and as a result burn your processor/RAM/mobo and maybe even your Hard Disk.
