Lots of movies with friends (viewing angles needs to be excellent), Every popular game. All games 2 years from now should be playable @ low settings.

ci5,8gb ram, 1 tb HD, Backlit keyboard is compulsion and killer looks.

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

Screen resolution ( 900p / 1080p (Full HD) )

Dude you haven't decided yet? Backlit keyboard is rare in your budget, unless you are getting i5 version of Y510p.

Try HP p073tx. It's listed for 58k, though there are offers on Flipkart and you will get extended warranty. In addition to that there is 3k discount, so it will cost you around 55k.

However, HP laptops are notorious for overheating. That's the reason I moved away from it. If you can handle that, go ahead.
