Asus p5n e sli
Intel q6600
4gb kingston ram
xfx 8600gts 356mb
wd 160,wd 250,wd 250--sata IIs and a 250gb pata hard drive
a dvd writer (a vintage one)

i want to change my mobo since i m fedup with stability issues of p5ne sli.
can u suggest me which of the two mb's is good?my budget is below 10k.can u suggest me some other board?preferabely SLI ?

What stability problems are u having??
The P5N-E SLI has problems setting FSB between 400-450Mhz,u can go higher and lower but not between 400-450Mhz.
Have u updated your to 0703 Bios, not beta.

well i have only performed that AI overclocking-20%
my bios is 0703
the problems are simple--the day i bought it i was not able to install vista.i changed my PSU as the guys on toms hardware said.still no result.then somehow vista loaded.i think i changed Pnp os settings for that.

and i m also facing problems with 8600GTS in sli.my pc freezes.

yesterday vista froze and since then even new installations are not working.i've checked every hardware i have on my frnd's pc but everything is fine.

now i m thinking of sending this board to Asus and if there's something wrong they winn sort it out.and later i will sell it.so i need a new board.can u suggest me one?

I see u have 8600GTS SLI and i don't think P5KC has SLI support so your stuck with buying XFX 680i LT SLI.
Now even this motherboard had stability issues but have been solved with bios updates.
If u plan to get this mobo then do not get old stock.Go to rashi and tell them to arrange one for u so that u don't get an old stock but a new one with the new bios.

It seems that you got a bad board. There are literally tons of good mobos out there but the question is which one's available easily.I suggest you look for a good MSI motherboard.
And this forum has already seen one member having trouble with ASUS customer support in India(they are bada$$es)they don't give a damn about customers.
I literally stop buying stuff which does not deliver the goods in performance after market support.
If though you have a badge on it that says 3 year rashi warranty then you might get it easily replaced.
I don't know much about abit but XFX will be easily available because of rashi.
One thing though once you get the mobo do as much stress testing you can to check its stability,if you find a problem ping the place from where you bought the mobo and get it replaced quickly with a non defective one.

well 780i is too costly and i cant wait coz i got some work to do.thats the reason i m getting a new board otherwise i'd have got this board repaired.also almost every P35 board does not support SLi but supports crossfire.since i m buying another gfx card it will be a problem.also the thing is i don't have to pay anything as i m selling asus crosshair..thanks for the suggestion.
