Asus A8V-MX

Guys...I've an Asus A8V-MX motherboard having athlon 64 running onit.Now when I searched over the net I got to know that this omtherboard can support Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core processor and couple of other models by upgrading the bios.Will it be a good idea to upgrade to some dual core processor with this motherboard?....If yes then which model to go for?.....

This motherboard supports only Socket 939 X2 processors, which are old and out of market.

The current X2 is Socket AM2 processor and will not fit on this motherboard, they support DDR2 whereas your mobo supports DDR.

Better go for new mobo, proccy and ram if you need dual core PC
