The next game from Remedy Entertainment

A while ago we were debating on the mystery that surrounds Remedy Entertainment’s new title.

Since then, we have had access to new information and a new web site has been released.

Well, Max Payne is no longer in Remedy’s court, the company deciding to give birth to a new hero, Alan Wake, who will star in a new psychological action thriller type of game.

The official site www.alanwake.com contains only two screenshots and a trailer, but they reveal nothing but the hero’s face.

And indeed, Alan Wake looks very good and it seems he will be journeying through the mountains, if we are to believe a screenshot that presents a sunset/sunrise in a defile.

The trailer didn’t reveal too much information either about what will happen to Alan Wake.

Several details will be presented by Remedy Entertainment during E3 Expo, the game being developed in collaboration with ATI.

Once Remedy Entertainment has announced its new title, Take Two is Max Payne’s only chance of making a comeback on our computers.

Alan Wake, huh? A. Wake. LOL! :D What's a psychological action thriller? Sounds like combining three genres in one. :D The screenshot of the coast/mountain road looks really good, but knowing Remedy, I am more interested in the story than in the graphics, considering how Sam Lake is again instrumental in this. BTW, there was this supposed secret poster in the site that got removed later. Check it out here. Will post more after checking out the 18MB teaser.

Wow! Great news. From the characters dress, I guess its set some time in the 50's or the 60's. And has something to do with keeping awake all the time. Like you know those horror stories where you can't fall asleep...you get the drift. Remedy has a penchant for incoporating dream sequeneces as evident from the two Max Payne games. This one seems to be on the same lines.

mmmm...dont think its 50-60's. Check the link enoonmai gave. From the image and the hair style I dont think it will be. Anyways the image looks really nice. But I too will await the story line and see what they come up with.

I think Cody's right about the insomnia part. The A.Wake is definitely not a coincidence. :D Plus, the teaser (which looks awesome) clearly mentions "Some are born to light. Some are born to endless night." - which in conjunction with the part about the secret poster saying something about the guy's nightmares coming true, could be really groundbreaking material. The teaser which features breathtaking scenery and ultra-realistic water effects (yes, better than HL2's) looks mind-blowing. I only hope horror doesn't mean weird mutated monsters and the like, a la, Stephen King. That is one concept that's already been done to death. But the game sure does look pretty. There is definitely HDR involved in this one, as is clear from the teaser. I don't know if my computer can run this game though. Get the teaser if you haven't got it already, its great.

EDIT: Yes, its also for the XBox 360 and maybe even for the PS3. The website mentions "Coming to PC and the next generation consoles."

Wont be surprised if we see similarities with Max Payne...after all MP was Remedy's baby, the one that made them famous. Affinity for that game is sure to show in their subsequent games.
