Computer shutsdown as soon as swithced on ?

Laptop shutsdown then comes back on on its own.
My friend got a HP G62 lap and has been facing a funny problem. Whenever the lap shutsdown, after about five seconds, it comes back on, on its own. However, when it is shutdown a second time, it shutsdown properly. If the lid is closed immediately after shutdown, it goes into sleep. Please help.- Desmond
