Hosting my site from HOME PC

Hi I have heard from my friend that we can hoist our site on our HOme pc using bsnl broadband connection. He says we just need to register for address with registar. How can we host our site on our Home PC because Home Pc will not have static IP. Anyone tried this? Is this possible?
