redundany

i have a couple of images (.nrg) of a couple of games.. i burned the games(7cds).. and in both i got the cyclic redundany error.. i burned the cds at 40x.. should i burn at a lesser speed... i have a sony cdrw 48x/24x/48x and use gunuine sony cds please tell me what the problem is...
