recommendable

I've got a PENTI III processor, with a mercury motherboard. I"m usin' a 194 ram which is a combination of 128 & 64. I"m thinkin' of replacing the 64 ram with 256Mb, will this cause any kind of ram related problems(like slow working), is it recommendable...
