gordian

Hi all, I used Gordian Knot as my DVD to DivX conversion process ... it works fine but it takes a hell lot of time(approximately 15-16 hours) and the quality is good ... but my friends r using XMpeg which takes at the max 2 hrs to do the same process .. why is that case ...? why cant gordian...
