compatabilty

I have a pentium 4 pc my configuration is : Pentium 4 2.4Ghz with HT enabled. Mother Board is Intel D865GBF my RAM is 512MB DDR 400MHz with 120 GB samsung hardisk. The problem is many programs do not run on my machine. i have to change in program compatabilty mode to run as win98/ME. But...
