bookmarked

Hey guys.i use google chrome but when i bookmark it doesnt get saved. To check the bookmarked page.I have to go to bookmarks>bookmark manger>recent. Why isnt it directly saving to bookmarks :-?

My firefox browser shut down unexpectedly and when i reopened it all my bookmarks were gone. How do i get them back? some of them were very important and i do not remember the sites i bookmarked. Please help!!
