Have these retired components so what do I do with them?

1. AMD Ryzen 2200G CPU
2. 2x8GB DDR4 3000 RAM
3. Dell FullHD monitor with lines and discolouration but turns on
4. ASUS B350 Prime motherboard not sure if it working
5. Some Corsair powersupply which is not working properly
6. A case but power button works with difficulty

Using the CPU and RAM, can I build a box for use as media centre or NAS? What would I need to buy?
Minimum budget ideas please.

If the mobo is working, you could use it as a sort of media center.

What cannot be salvaged you can dispose as e-waste.

A case but power button works with difficulty

This could be either button issue or even mobo issue. If it’s button issue and if there’s a Reset button, just internally swap the cables going to mobo, so that you plug Reset wire into Power ON pins on mobo and can continue to use the cabinet as usual. Just user Reset button to power on. Basic mechanism of operation is same.

That is a new thing I learned today. I was actually searching for replacement power buttons online.

I also similar trouble with the newer case I purchased after this. Initially the button starts to need more force to operate and later on it becomes just a chance game if it will work or not. Retiring the whole case because of this seems wasteful particularly when there are no similar replacements in the market.

Motherboard used to be working earlier but had some issues towards the end which I have forgotten.

Is there any cheap option from Zebronics or something in mini-ITX format?

Both Power & Reset button on the case are Momentary switches. They momentarily short or connect the part of the circuit and the circuit interprets it to change from the previous state as appropriate, e.g from ON to OFF or OFF to ON.
Most mobos show + & - for RST & PWR Pins on F_PANEL connector but that's meaningless. It has no such polarity. Just plug the Dupont connector anyway, and it will work

The reset button was fidgety already :-o

I will dump the whole thing and but a new local case if nothing works out.

Alternatively I am thinking of buying a replacement power switch (seems to cost around 250 rupees online) and get a big plastic box and try to fit the motherboard and power supply in that and make a home made case :hyper:

You do not even need a Power Button!! All you need to do to power on desktop PC is to short the PWR Pins on mobo by a metallic object like a small screwdriver for just a moment and PC will power on!! That's what I do when I build a PC brand new outside of cabinet first!

Assuming - PSU & Mobo all are in good condition. Because any fault in them might cause PC not to power on at all.
