Every good GPU brand publishes the min PSU requirement for a stable system that should be met to properly run the GPU.

Generally keep a tolerance of some additional Watts from what min is specified for better performance.
Secondly if you ever go for high end board or GPU make sure that the PSU has all the required connectors.
More than 15 years ago when I bought Gigabyte 880GM board, it had 4+4 CPU EPS connector and I had to carefully look for a PSU back then that actually supplied 4+4 EPS connector where most common models were still supplying 4 Pin EPS and most vendors gave me
