Suggestion on a switch for home networking

Hi folks... how are you guys. Posting after a long break.
So I need to setup LAN in my parent's multi floor home. I live on 2nd floor. And from there I need to layout LAN cables to ground floor and on the roof (LAN everywhere :p). Network diagram is attached.
What I have planned is to have a switch present on my floor and connect all LAN cables going to all other floors from it.

If I could daisy chain the LAN, maybe I wouldn't need to connect all LAN cables from my floor. What do you guys think? Any better plan?
If no, I would like a suggestion for atleast a 6 port switch. Since I am noob when it comes to networking, I just did a basic search and came up with this: *www.amazon.in/TP-Link-LS108G-Wallmount-Ethernet-Splitter/dp/B07RQT8VX1

Is this any good?

I would also want 3 routers which I can use to extend the network and which creates a mesh with my existing main router: TP Link Archer C80 AC1900 (which I recently bought keeping his use case in mind).

Can check TP Link Deco mesh routers, pack of 3 is 7-8k for Deco M4. Can use for G, 1 & 2 floors.

A basic switch is enough IMO but read more online.

Yes I am looking forward to Deco Mesh, but what I am wondering is that instead of using one of the deco device as the main router, can I connect all the 3 deco routers to my Archer C80 router and use them all as satellites?

So I end up buying, TP-Link LS109P 9-Port 10/100Mbps Desktop Ethernet Switch with 8-Port, a PoE switch.
Now I am looking forward to buy couple of budget routers that I can use to extend the network from my main Archer router, as I figured that Deco's mesh will be incompatible with the Archer's One mesh. *www.amazon.in/dp/B0759QMF85

But is it good enough?

Your TP Link C80 has Gigabit ports. I assume this LS109P was a conscious decision as this switch will limit it to 100Mbps. As long as you get max 100Mbps Internet and you do not have any specific reason or a need to exceed 100Mbps on LAN, it should be ok.

No, C20 says 100 Mbps LAN port

Get the cheapest wireless routers with gigabit ports. 100Mbps is good but internet speeds will increase with time. C64 mentions gigabit, so at least the WAN port will be gigabit even if other LAN ports aren't.

Also, not sure why you bought a 100Mbps switch. Even that is outdated.

@Vyom,

Your network is only as fast as its the slowest component!

When I said 'It should be ok' I am not referring to any of the routers you plan to buy, that's now irrelevant. as you have bought a 100Mbps switch. When you connect 1000Mbps port to 100Mbps switch the entire speed is brought down to 100Mbps from that point onwards.

See this thread for example *geek.digit.in/community/threads/can-tp-link-archer-c60-support-300mbps-broadband-connection.210358/#post-2408232
User had 300Mbps connection but a router supporting max 100Mbps WAN and LAN.

If you really want good thruput everywhere, consider looking for Switch 10/100/1000 and then match it with AC routers that are having Gigabit WAN & LAN.
But if you strictly do not have a need for crossing 100Mbps on LAN then the current 10/100 switch is ok.
That's why I asked if it was a conscious decision to buy 10/100 Switch.

100Mbps = 12.5 MB/Second

No it was not a conscious decision at all. It didn't even consider my mind that I needed to look for speeds in the switch. And I completely ignored the 100 mbps limitation.

I have a 300 mbps fiber connection. So I would definitely want a router that outputs more than 100 mbps. Can you suggest me such switch? As well as a router that I can use to create mesh network?

Hi,

Basically I not a networking expert and don’t have much experience in setting up networks. Also without proper homework, it’s hard for me to give you an exact & very specific buying advice!

For me buying computer HW involves a lot of preliminary research and even hitting tech supports of various vendors with lot of tech queries to get the correct thing!

What I can in general comment is that when looking for a switch make sure it has 100/1000Mbps (1 Gbps) ports and while buying router / mesh etc make sure that they are AC wifi with 100/1000 Mbps (1 Gbps) LAN and WAN.

And for LAN cables make sure that you get CAT-6, avoid if anyone is selling you CAT-5e. Of course generally CAT-5e reliably works at 1 Gbps.
