I think someone has posted misleading info. Plexiglass or acrylic should cost you somewhere between Rs. 40-120 per square feet. A 4 feet by 8 feet sheet of 5mm acrylic costs about 1400 bucks. For your side panel you would require a 2 x 2 feet piece which can be found at any such shop and...
I can help you, but you'll have to come over to my place. You can check out my work at erodov.com, and maybe I have posted it here too. Can't be sure of that though.
I'm not a fan of pre-built cases. That being said, I think you should work on the cable management at the least. What's the point in buying all that hardware, putting it in a mass produced cabbie, and then not even bothering with how the air will move inside, and how the temps are gonna be?
You'll require a set of screwdrivers, Soldering iron, solder wire, flux. The jigsaw you have has a very high tolerance- as in, it takes out a considerable amount of material while cutting, so whatever you design, make sure you take that into account. You are set otherwise.
keep saving cash...don't attempt to start buying anything before you have 8 k...you probably don't need so much, but its always better to have some cash in reserve for emergencies.
Do you have any tools with you, or can you get them if required?
Okay. How much are you willing to shell out on this? I'd say use aluminium, but you'd need atleast 3mm thick sheets. If you go the acrylic way, then you'll be spending close to 4-5k on laser cutting, and say about 1200-1500 more on material. Work out a budget for yourself, make a design...
If you need a lot of airflow then either you'll have to make a bigger case than this, or segregate components like I did. As for sprucing up, that depends on you entirely.
Actually, this mod is like an experiment for another mod that I'm planning. This will be completely passively cooled, based on convection only. If this works out okay, then I'll use the principle in another mod which I'm going to build for a friend.
