all files in /etc/modprob.d are editable..u must have tried editing the /etc/modprob.conf.
i think u should add the lines in the file alsa-base of /etc/modprobe.d.
also u should comment out the lines at the bottom of the file where it tries blocking third party modules from loading a sound...

go to this url and insert the calculated modeline under the monitors subsection in your xorg.conf. also update the screens subsection with the selected resolution.
of course..this will work only ur monitor is holding u back..which it might...

i think nokia phones already ship with an unique code number of it's own. u can get by typing *#06#.and providing that number to ur provider ensures blocking of the phone.
i dont know for sure. but think that the pro of indentation is that you dont need to count how many braces you have used to make sure you ended a block or a loop.but the prob with indentation is that you need to make sure of the number of times u press the spacebar or tab(if u'r using editors...
