Before u decide upon the PSU, what kind of a storage setup do you have? Most 6870 cards come wid recommendations to use atleast a 500W PSU. If you have a raid array with 3 or 4 harddisks, power requirements are bound to be higher.
And.. +1 for Cilus' config..
Well.. i formed my opinions mostly based on this particular review.. The 2011 Mid-Range SSD Roundup
The heavy and light workload benchmarks were ones that I found particularly relevant
Hope u havent finalized finalized the config. OCZ Agility series SSDs have asynchronous NAND and is slightly obselete nw. I would recommend u go for the Intel SSD 510 or OCZ Vertex or Corsair Performance 3 series of SSDs. If you get the time, go through the entire series of benchmarks in this...
The 650W is enough now yes. But I presume you will want to use SLI/CFX after a while. Will the same psu still suffice? Better to go for the corsair tx750v2 imo.
and if u are adding a hdd in the future for a raid setup or doing some overclocking etc., might be better to go for a 850w psu!!
The V2210 does not have a DVI connector
The G2220HD does not have HDMI connector
The G2222HDL does not have HDMI connector
The E2220HD has both
wth is one supposed to make of this? And, HDMI supports DVI signals also by default right?
Couple of reasons as to why the findings in the article might not necessarily matter -
1. test system used has vista 64bit sp1. maybe windows7 uses the memory better?
2. the article is dated 07/2008. Apps have gotten a lot more memory intensive in the meantime. most app performance...
are u gonna be using crossfire/sli setups? considered the asrock z68 pro3? it shud be priced in the range u r comfortable wid. it also supports dvi outputs which u seem to require and most reviews rate it as a very good mobo too.. the only problem i see is regards availability in india.. i have...
i guess that makes sense too, but.. here is wat i thot, failure rate for my card is like 1% in the first 9 months. I am considering a time period of only 9 months cuz i am gonna be using a crossfirex system latest by then. Now, RMA takes arnd 20 days i guess. So the question is 'is it worth 1200...
Hi dude,
1. Chose the XM instead of the XL cuz i cud overclock it.
2. Dint get the UD3H since i hav a discrete gfx card and cuz the non-H version is a bit cheaper :D
3. Got the gigabyte card cuz it comes overclocked and has well-reviewed design features as opposed to sapphire or his 6870...
Failure rates for newer SSDs much lower. Especially for those based on the newer marvel or sandforce controllers. Thats why i mentioned tat he go for the newer generations ssds with those controllers and trim support. I do agree that failure rates are higher as opposed to a magnetic disk, but...
