Does your motherboard support DDR333? Is your motherboard old? If its old AND supports DDR333 then it prolly needs a BIOS update. You're best bet is to stick it right into a new system which definitely supports it and checkout what MHz it shows...
If you care to understand architectures then you would understand that you can fit more instructions per clock cycle and have a slower gigahertz OR you can have higher gigahertz and fit less instructions per clock cycle. BUT you cant have both. Intel has chosen the latter for its pentium...
enoomai, my $0.02. Intel processors always were and have been more "stable" than AMD processors. I remember Tom's Hardware guide testing processors for overheating problems. They removed the Heat Sink and fan off the processor while the system was removing. Their results? All Intel processors...
keyloggers are the biggest concern. I know I have been to a cyber cafe and I have suspicions of keyloggers on the PCs and I was right. So I just didnt login to my accounts. Surfed for a while and left.
Stop bashing HT! HT is a technology which was being used in servers far before it came to desktops and currently only Intel offers it. My experience with HT has been marvellous! I have 3 machines:
