The movies that I mentioned in my earlier post were DivX only. If the problem was with the format then I doubt the player could have played the first 9 seconds.

Not really. I have burned several movies as Data CD to a CD and am able to play the movie on the home theater.

That could be a possibility. I seriously wish I get another pair to test. If the bass is alright, I'd go ahead and get one. The MDR_EX35 looks good, but there's no way to know about its bass. BTW, if the EP-630 are that prone to damage, is it really worth buying?
