Are you sure you have set the "Sound scheme" properly? Do check in the "Sound and Audio Devices Properties", under the "Sounds" tab. You should have "Windows Default" (or anything else that you use) under the "Sound scheme" list box.

@n6300 Kannada would get these benefits: 1. An institute for the development of the language. 2. 100 crores for that institute (or to the government?). 3. Kannada chairs in all the universities in India. That's all I know of, I think there are some more.

IMO, IE8 is much much better than IE7. I just hope Windows 7 replaces Vista similarly. BTW, I'm not going to spread IE8 even if they pay me, because although it's better than IE7, it just can't compete with Opera or Firefox.
