Hi guys ,

Anyone recommend a good wireless router to connect to 8 or more PCs . The PCs are for gaming by the way . It will be good if it supports ADSL 2+ (Internet :p)

Or should i still stick with wired routers for gaming setups ?

Price range : 3K - 6K

Is this for a home setup or a small gaming parlour?

You will see an increase in latency when connecting so many users through Wifi. I am sure you know for gaming latency is more important than speed.

Wired setup is the best for such a setup in my opinion. But if I had a gaming grade router (which I found a few only on US websites and forums) I will take it; more convenient and easy to set up.

Even if you go wired then you will need something like a networking router I think. I am not sure about this.

IMO search for very good wireless router first. If you dont then get a wired network setup. I would also like to add that wired would definitely give you better performance than a wireless conn. by how much I cannot say but it does for sure.

yes gaming latency is more important .I dont think there are any good wireless routers which can be used for gaming cafes.

Honestly I have never come across a wifi connection being used by 8 people. The max I have gone is 4 for online game play in my single band N router.

Now if a dual band wifi router can handle your requirements well or not needs to be tested by someone who has them. I am not so I can only theoretically tell you that the latency will increase. It does for sure but should only be considered if it is significant.

Personally even I use my wifi to play online through 2 PCs and a PS3 so its good going till now.

For cafes. A network switch will be much better and cheaper (if connecting desktops by saving wifi dongle purchase)
