What are bad clusters?

i have bought a new samsung hard disk SP 0822N. after some days i noticed that there were bad clusters formed in the drive. i would like toknow how bad clusters are formed. what are the causes. i have got my new hdd replaced since it is under warrenty but the new hdd is also giving the same problem. i would like to know what is the difference between bad clusters and bad sectors.

A bad cluster to my knowledge is a bad spot in the actual physical hard disk and as far as I know there is no way to fix it you can still use the drive it just will be a little smaller. The only way I know to repair this is to replace it.
