How do you store and share your photos or videos

I currently use Google photos and have shared album which my family can access.

My google drive is getting full. I don't want to pay for google one. Do you guys know any software or app that is similar to Photos ( automatically upload the files ) and view later by person or date of photo taken ?

You will have to buy some cloud subscription. I also use Google Drive to share pics, but later delete it to save space.

Will setting up a nuc or pi with hard disk feasible like a server which works only in LAN.

Or do I have to go with NAS

I am ok with uploading once I am at home using my LAN.

I'd suggest 2 options for DIY NAS:
1. intel 6th gen or ryzen 3000 series APUs for dirt cheap, a cheap mobo with 4 sata ports and a >250W PSU
2. Office PC (optiplex, thinkcenter, etc) with same config and at least 2 3.5" drive bays + extra 120 mm fan for cooling.

In either case, get the highest capacity HDD you can afford (either 3.5" or shucked from portable drives).

PI NAS should suffice but they are so overpriced at the moment it makes no sense.

You would have it the easiest way if you go with commercial options but they will be most expensive as well.
