    Why IC Names are scratched off or blurred ?

    Hello, I've noticed that in many devices the IC names are scratched off or blurred into an unreadable way.Why is it so? Do they want to prevent these IC Names to be known to public-or experts getting the idea of the circuit,what it does..Uff..someone there who knows..?:confused:
