my friend owns a 32" plasma screen and its full HD... he need a decent card which can render with minimal loss.... a card with HDMI input is preferred.... budget is within 10K and also suggest a PSU for the same...

firstly i was jus lookin for a GFX bump... but one thing lead to another and i landed up with tis rig... :-D I wanted to go for the i7, but i wanted the best in class... and the 965 costed a fortune... so settled for the Q9650...
so as far as the components, i had to wait about a couple of...

@ The Sorcerer: i donot know much about PSU's, so i didnt know how to check the insides of the PSU but anyway, this was the setup config...
and yes, i ran orthos and prime95... 2hrs each....

i once did a E8400(OC'ed to 3.4Ghz) + HD4850 on CM ExtremePower Plus 500w around six months ago and its still workin good as far as i got feed back from that friend of mine....
i think it could handle it....
I tested my card on my friend's system(C2D E7400, no overclocking done!) and moreover the monitor was a samsung 22" and i ran the same game in full rendering! the result, a SOLID 70fps.!:-x
the software that i was using to check my temperatures(in my computer) was 'CPU Cool' and i think that...
upgraded to 9.4... still the same problem... :-( i even installed xp 32-bit again... still i got the same problem... my frame rate is hovering 12-20fps... :-(
I donot know how to calculate the frame rate in GRID... As Far as i know, the frame rate is not very smooth... it is slightly jagged... i mean i hav a feel that some frames are being skipped... i hope u can understand, cant express them properly.. :smile:

i currently switched to Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition and upgraded my RAM from 2 to 4GB(Transcend 2x2GB 800Mhz DDR2). my problem is tat GRID(my favorite game!) fetches me very low frame rates at all display settings maxed out(reminds me the days of playing NFS Most Wanted...
ha ha... no no... gone for a toss in the sense i broke one of the locking levers while removing it... the lever wouldnt just release so i put some pressure to remove it out of the mounting holes, the lever gave way... n from where do i find the stepping...?? the stepping '6' was mentioned in...
