Basic Guide Purchase a New System

DELL website price is Rs.9200. I got it here in Kolkata locally for Rs.9000+tax i.e. Rs.9360. Also add a good PSU in your config. One of the cheapest (but good) option is Zebronics platinum 500 Watts for Rs.1800 + Tax (Kolkata price).

I am seriously impressed by it's quality also, A 9K LCD could not be better I think. Its performance exceeded my expectation after calibrating.

My config is almost the same, just IP35-Pro and DELL SE198WFP with 4 gigs of RAM. Why don't you consider DELL SE198WFP? That's an excellent display for it's price. Consider it since ViewSonic is known for after sales issues.

You are welcome. Didn't buy the 24" because I wanted to keep the damage low (9000+tax in this case). Later I will upgrade to a better panel (not bigger, 20" will be good for me) so wanted to save some money.

@ Royal Have you bought Logitech speakers yet? If not go to Saboo, they have a good collection and the Z2300 is 6.9K+VAT there, which seems a good price. So any speaker of Logitech is expected to be well priced there.

Re: Post what you purchased. Thanks a lot. Sorry they can't give you 24". They haven't any model bigger than 19" and only the one I have bought is available in 19" category right now. May be later but not right now, I asked them and they have confirmed it.

Re: Post what you purchased. Bought DELL SE198WFP, a 19" wide screen LCD monitor from Vedant, Kolkata for Rs.9000 + VAT and Creative 2.1 M2600 speaker set for Rs.1650 + VAT.:) Happy with the performance of the display. M2600 is somewhat good for that price.

Re: Post what you purchased. Congrats!! That's a nice camera and gives excellent images in lower ISO compared to most compact cams. Any reason for not buying in India?

Re: Post what you purchased. Good info for me, thanks. Though I read that smaller pixel pitch makes the images crisper for viewing. May be personal choice. Did you get bundled DVI cable with it? If not did you buy? If yes, what's the price?:D

Re: Post what you purchased. Any trouble (performance decrease) for not viewing at native resolution? Is 1680x1050 straining your eyes? In that case you could have bought 19", or found this 1680x1050 unpleasant for your eyes after purchase?

Re: Post what you purchased. How are the colors? I am into photoshopping so I also need a good LCD with good colors. Would you recommend it? I am also thinking of LG L194WT or ViewSonic VA1912wb. Bought the domain for free? Where from?

Technically this 'just' 2 bits means 16,515,072 number of color difference.:D an 8 bit panel can display that many more colors than a 6 bit panel.

It's VX1945WM, TN panel. Just go through the specs of an LCD, 8 bit panels will have 176-178 degree viewing angle and 14-16ms response time (or 6-8ms g-t-g). That's the basic way to understand the panel type (only if 6 or 8 bit, but I don't know in case of 8 bit if there is any way to know the...
