Did you reached to any final decision? My S4 died yesterday and I am also looking for an upgrade with similar to your requirements.

Asus zenfone 2 selfie looks good but have snapdragon 615. I was looking for atleast 801 processor..

Nexus 5 (2015) release date is still not yet fixed so I am thinking for going with current available options...

I've all but finalized the Moto X Play which will launch tomorrow at 18k and 20k I think for 16GB and 32GB respectively.

If you don't want the 615(frankly I don't like it either), then go for Mi 4 or better yet Nexus 6, it will have sell as soon as new Nexus are announced. If you're ok with a 32bit cpu then Nexus 6 provides massive vfm now. I am just afraid that Google might focus more on 64bit in future and I'd like to ride the bandwagon :D

I had the ZF2 in mind as well, the laser model with SD615 and 720p display @ 14k, but it's nowhere near launch ATM.

Mi 4c is slated to come in future with SD808 @ less than 20k, but the fact that it will be 16GB without micro sd completely turned me off, there will be a 32GB model but it will most probably not come to India.

Zf2 laser with sd615 is listed on fk, but as out of stock. I guess it shouldn't be that far away. Mi4c & redmi note 2 should launch in India in a few days. Nexus 5 2015 isn't very far either.

Heard its not launching, good news if it does.

Redmi Note 2 Release in India Delayed Indefinitely; Xiaomi vs Ericsson Patent Issue to Blame?

Mi4c, if priced below 20k for 32GB version would be a great phone, especially considering that it is a dual SIM

Now having second thoughts about Moto X Play, the phone is perfect for my requirements. But it has no Gyroscope. So what will I miss out expect Photosphere/Cardboard/Youtube 360?

Sad. Afaik even the zenfone 2 laser @ 10k has the gyroscope.

You will miss these kind of controls -> *youtu.be/MB9YMIGDZ50?t=1m15s
But tilting controls will work.

If you are interested in cardboard, most of the apps need gyro.

I'm in office, so can't view the video, I'll go through it once I reach home. A list would or an article would be helpful.

I don't use photosphere(though I like the idea), don't use cardboard or youtube 360.

I do play games, arcade mostly but I'd like to keep all options open. I play racing games so those need tilt control.

So what are this risks I'm taking if I get a phone without the gyroscope?

Why would anyone take a Moto X Play over an LG G2? It will be an downgrade. If you talk about Moto X Style then it is indeed an upgrade.

Battery Life, updates and probably camera. Granted gaming performance takes a hit but day to day performance is good enough.

Man LG G2 is still a great phone. LG G2 with an custom rom from cloudyfa will just rape the Moto X Play. Custom Rom and Development Support for G2 is insane. Moto X Play Camera have disappointed in the reviews and LG G2 have a very great camera. I was comparing my old G2 shots and iPhone 6 Plus shots, G2 is superior. G2 is a piece of gem.

The battery in my G2 is dying, the phone also heats up a lot these days, it will be a rather replacement than downgrade.

I ditch the powerful processor for better battery, ois camera for better daylight shots, custom skin for stock android. But the lack of gyroscope threw a curve ball, I think its better for me to wait. Gyroscopes are not like barometer or temperature meter, they are a part of the android ecosystem for a very long time, they are something the developers have taken for granted, not having it will be an issue I think.

Exactly, wasn't expecting the lack of gyro though.

Agreed, in terms of features G2 was THE perfect phone, its the framework for Nexus 5 and the first international set to have the SD800, it didn't skimp on the battery or the camera.

To get my G2 up and running I need to replace the battery, the heating will be there but I don't play many games.

iPhones can't justify the price they charge

My Z3C is better than iphone 6 overall (even though iphone has a betetr build quality but price isn't justifiable)

Do you want this thread to turn into a Warzone? :D

There's a reason Apple makes such huge profit on an iphone, they do the marketing right.

Sony Z5 uses TIM and Heatpipes, now you'll see people taking the phone apart, applying TX5 and posting benchmark.
