mera kutch nahi ho sakta
Hi
I have this cheap 128mb mp3 player, that I have been using to play mp3 files. It also claims to supports wma.
So today i converted some of my mp3 files to wma using SUPER, they play nicely on my PC, but fail to play on my mp3/wma player.

Any ideas why?

I am a noob in encoding shencoding and just selected the default settings while converting from mp3 to wma. Anything specific I should do?

Thanks

Assumin dat d player indeed supports wma

2 c if u encoding d wma file rite, use a wma file from sum download site like THIS

if it is playin properly on you player den it means dat u doin sumthin wrong wit Super, try playin wit it 2 acieve d right setting [tho i doubt der is any prob wit its settings]

if it still does no work den u may try usin sum other sw do d same like dBPoweramp

u may have to install d wma plugin 2 b able to encode d file.

If all fails den it cud b posible dat ur media player does not support wma files

I downloaded dbpoweramp, and it turns out that there are 'versions' of wma.
WMA pro
WMA voice
wma standard
Most probably my mp3 player supports only wma standard (which happens to be lossy)

I converted mp3 to windows media audio standard using dbpoweramp , which played on my mp3 player as well :).
BUT the encoded file was bigger than the mp3..so I'll guess I'll stick to mp3

Thanks for yr help

convertin mp3->wma not a good option

if u want 2 check out its true potential [now that it has been confirmed that u can play wma files on ur player], take an original wav file and ecncode it in mp3 and den encode d wav file again as wma usin bitrate half as dat of ur mp3 bitrate

MS claims dey wud produce d same qlty
ne way perfer mp3 over ne other format due 2 its wide spread support

^arre I am not doubting its potential, i got awesome compression with SUPER. The thing is it seems my player supports an ancient lossy version of WMA
