Winrar - The archive is either corrupt or damaged

Hey all,

I need help of all u guys

Yesterday i downloaded CCNA Training Kit which is of 125 MB and a Winrar file.

When i tried to open the file it gave me the error message "Winrar - The archive is either corrupt or damaged"

I tried to Reapir that file with Winrar's built in Repair utilility but i doesnt repair.

Has anybody come accross such problem?
Does anybody knows solution to this problem?
Does anybody knows a software with the help of which i can recover as much data as possible from the winrar file??

Well .... I want to recover as much data as possible

Please i would be really grateful if anybody shows me ways or software names by which i can recover files from that rar archive.

Well i faced such problem lot of times,but no solution.

Even i would be gratefull to anyone who could provide the solution,atleast then i wont have to waste my time downloading a huge file just to see that error

Well if the file was not download properly this error occurs. You try another software named as Advanced Zip repairer.

hmm... if u want da whole archive u need to downlaod it again

Actually redownloading might be ur only option. Corrupt downloads even while using download managers are a normal thing. Thats why you find tht large files are split up into much smaller ones and then downloaded . Simply becos then u need to download only the part which has gotten corrupted. So redownloading is the way to go.

Just go by my words if u want that archive to work.

Most of the corrupt files which are not opening in winrar,winzip work well using the WINACE decompressor.

And issure and give 100% guarantee that if there is any scope of repairing this archive WINACE can do this.

I have tried almost all decompression softwares and found that WINACE works ahead of all of them.

Just try winace and tell me if it works.If it fails then u can do nothing.

I had the same problem earlier using winrar....this may mean two things:
1) The file is actually corrupt. You can try downloading the file again.
2) You are using an older version of winrar. Try installing the latest version of winrar and open the file in that. I had the corrupt file problem when i used an older winrar version, but i was able to successfully extract the file using the latest version.

Well i have a different problem..
I downloaded a 40 MB file and then its asked me for part two.I clicked keep broken files and delleted the orignal archive.
nOw i have the second half of the file and i want to combine the two so i get the whole file..
Any idea how i can do it?

nothing hapoeende ?
then you have to downlaod it again ..no any other option
