Is there any way to save the auto update files to disk so that when reinstalling windows I need not download the files again.
i.e I don't want the auto update files to be installed automatically but saved to a location on the hard-disk.

Is it possible??

Thanks :)

If it is Xp then, a lot better and more advanced (still) easy method is to use RyanVM's Post SP2 Update Files.

Let me know u if have win xp and i will post the whole guide to do it.

also get hold of sp2 cd from *www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx

It is free and reaches within 20-25 days and will save you from installing lot of updates.
