I am not very sure whether its possible to assemble a media center PC cuz AFAIK, XP media center comes as OEM copy only. If I am wrong, please let me know.

u r the one who is wrong here dude. Windows XP MCE does not come in retail packs. I am talking about the legal one here and not the pirated version. Its only being supplied as OEM.

yes but it IS possible to setup a media centre CAPABLE pc
and even if u dun have the winxp MCE OEM version u can use third party PVR software ..

its just this hype of winxp MCE edition thats driving ppl crazy ..
by definition yes u can assemble your own MCE pc.

check out the SPECIAL "MCE" CAPABLE tv tuner lines available from different companies including mercury, tech-com and another one which i just cant seem to rem yet ...
also PIXELVIEW had their MCE capable tv tuner out first ... but it was quite expensive at the time ..
